Alongside the one-man show of Hans Purrmann’s work is a comparative display of landscape paintings, mostly of Lombardy and Ticino, which are contemporary with the German master’s work from 1900 to 1960.

The choice of landscapes from the collection includes works by Attilio Balmelli, Edoardo Berta, Giuseppe Bolzani, Carlo Carrà, Pietro Chiesa, Ugo Cleis, Jean Corty, Carlo Cotti, Edmondo Dobrzanski, Adolfo Feragutti Visconti, Filippo Franzoni, Piero Giunni, Guido Gonzato, Walter Helbig, Gino Macconi, Giuseppe Mentessi, Theobald Modespacher, Ernst Max Musfeld, Bruno Nizzola, Carlo Quaglia, Ottone Rosai, Augusto Sartori, Mario Sironi and Samuel Wülser.
